THE BERINGEN COAL PREPARATION PLANT, TOWARDS A NEW BEGINNING
An investigation into a future-proof redevelopment
In the summer of 2021, an intensive investigation was conducted in the
protected coal washery in Beringen. The operation and the technical
installations were described and the importance of preserving this unique
heritage argued by developing a new narrative for the future. Good examples
from abroad are also described and a relevant management structure is sought:
steward ownership. TRIAGE² follows up on the book TRIAGE and presents Limburg
and Flanders with the challenge of realizing a globally relevant project with
the coal washery.
